Shannon McCarthy

Shannon McCarthy moved to Asheville in 2011 where, before she knew it, her roots grew into both the cultural and environmental landscape of the region. Over the years she's become deeply invested in the area's strong, inspired, colorful community, and it's become her true home. That intimate knowledge of the area, along with her love of a challenge, dynamic and entrepreneurial nature, and commitment to providing superb client experiences are what initially drew her to real estate, but she's always finding more things to appreciate about it.

Inherent curiosity about people has made Shannon what she calls a "sociological tourist", which has allowed her to connect with individuals who come from all different perspectives by listening to, and learning from, everyone she meets. Both her personal life and professional life have always been grounded in these relationships and interactions, which hinge upon integrity, kindness, and communication. She is a devoted advocate and friend to all of her clients; which is essential to providing a space where people feel safe, heard, and welcome, no matter who they are, what questions they have, or what they're looking to buy or sell. Her approach is always authentic and transparent, with no gimmicks and no sales tactics. Just real talk, grounded perspective, and fun wherever possible.

Shannon was an independent entrepreneur from a young age, and grew up in a house where she was always expected to participate in (ongoing) DIY home-improvement projects, and hands-on learning, innovative thinking, and creativity were nurtured. Her resulting fascination with homes, and their systems and nuances (as well as her habit of asking inspectors and home-service pros rather a lot of questions) - has led to a rare understanding of houses, and she can often identify problems and see potential and solutions where most wouldn't.

Personally, Shannon is an artist to her core, and is always creating something, whether it be quilts, costumes, miniatures for her haunted dollhouse layout, digital art, immersive parties, or just about anything else. She couldn't stop if she tried. She's always been inspired by the natural world, and is a hiker, caver, and plant, animal, bug, and mineral enthusiast and photographer. She has two unhinged cats and one rabbit, all of whom are insolent, entitled, and much beloved. She lives in West Asheville with her partner and creative collaborator, and is always up for checking out the latest restaurant, venue, or experience that Asheville has to offer.

Backed by the unmatched resources of Compass, and the distinguished team at Panashe, she can promise an exceptional experience on your next home buying or selling journey.
